Basic Kitty Cookies

Simple treats for any cat!

Ingredients

-          ½ cup dry cat food

-          1 cup all-purpose flour

-          ½ teaspoon salt

-          ½ teaspoon baking soda

-          1 large egg

-          ¼ cup beef broth

-          ¼ cup flour, for rolling out treats

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  In a mixing bowl, combine the first four ingredients, mixing well.  Add the egg and beef broth, mixing well.  Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup flour on a breadboard.  Roll out the dough in the flour until it is ¼ inch thick.  Use a 1-inch cookie cutter to cut out the cookies (choose a fun shape!).  Place the cut-out cookies on a greased cookie sheet.  Score all cookies with a sharp knife, creating a + on each one.  With a spoon, carefully drip a few drops of beef broth on the top of each cookie.  Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the bottoms of the treats are just turning golden brown.  Remove from the oven, let cool thoroughly and store in an airtight container.  Serve as a whole cookie or break into four pieces along the scored lines.

Makes 35, 1-inch cookies
