Dr. James Shultz

James is a native of Oregon and grew up in the Portland area. He graduated cum laude from Oregon State University with a degree in Animal Science, and received his DVM from Washington State University. He decided to focus on small animal nutrition while spending post-graduate time working with the pet food company, Royal Canin, outside of London, England. After returning from Europe, James began practice as a managing partner at a multi-doctor small animal hospital in Portland. Now the owner of Meridian Park Veterinary Hospital, he hopes his knowledge and experience will help brighten the lives of the area residents and their pets. James has a great interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery as well as behavioral and internal medicine. He enjoys working with exotic pets such as reptiles and other small mammals. When he is not working, you can find him snowshoeing, skiing, wakeboarding, horseback riding, and wine tasting. James and his wife, Betsy, love spending time with their 3 horses (Buck, Smokey, and Bailey), 2 dogs (Klondike and Molly), and 2 cats (Tonka and Cheeto). He enjoys having a practice in the Tualatin area as it affords him opportunities to enjoy the great outdoor activities Oregon has to offer.

Dr. Lisa Kidby
Lisa grew up in the beautiful Skagit Valley north of Seattle. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology at Boston University, and received her DVM from Oregon State and Washington State University Colleges of Veterinary Medicine. During medical school, Lisa completed a summer internship at a veterinary hospital in Bangkok Thailand, volunteered for the Feral Cat Coalition and the Humane Society of the United States. Lisa’s interests include preventive care, emergency and critical care patients, geriatric management, and quality of life consultations.
Lisa and her husband enjoy traveling, gardening, cooking, and projects around the house. They share their home with two dogs, three cats, and 10 fish.

Jynelle also enjoys volunteering with the Portland Animal Welfare Team.

When Brittany is not working at the hospital you can find her camping with friends, spending time at the beach and playing with her puppy Hazel. Brittany joined our team as a receptionist with hopes to become a licensed veterinary technician.
Megan – Veterinary Assistant
Megan graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in animal sciences. While she loves working at MPVH, she hopes to soon be accepted into veterinary school. Her passion for animals reaches back to her childhood and she has experience working with cats, dogs, horses, and wildlife. Her interests, aside from animals, are writing, painting, and photography. A common subject in her photographs is her cat, Gloria.

Lori – Groomer
Lori is a native, born and raised in small horse country Sylmar, California. Lori found her love for animals at a very young age; her first dog was a Great Dane mix that was about the size of a small horse. She started walking dogs and soon progressed to volunteering at local shelters with a goal to help every dog find a home. While working towards a degree in Business, she also studied grooming underneath a nationally acclaimed Master Groomer. Soon after, Lori opened her own grooming business in Manhattan Beach, California. Family ties brought her to Oregon where she has worked for many years in the Tualatin area. Her vast experience in both show grooming and every day haircuts has led her to work with a variety of animals with different behavioral and medical needs. She could not have guessed that a love for animals at such a young age would lead to not only her dream job, but a lifelong passion.
Now that she’s here at Meridian Park Hospital she can’t wait to meet you and your furry friends to make sure they not only look good but feel great!
When not at MPVH, Lori can be found spending time with her children in the great outdoors, camping, horseback riding, scuba diving and everything in between.
